Gracias!
Thanks guys for the gifts and presents you've sent me! I agree, everyone's cards were so pretty and unique this year, the little Christmas Corner in my room looks lovely. ♥
Those on LJ: Thanks to Ingrid, Emily, Marjory, Heather, Kay, Tracey, Lindsey, Chris, Tonya, Hina and Leonie.
Non-LJ and RL people: Thanks to Tash, Vanessa, Cebby, Blurcat, Leanna, Hattie, TQ and my music students.
I know some things are still coming, so I'll wait till they arrive before I do a picspam. I hope I haven't missed anyone (I went through the envelopes), I'm sorry if I have, and I thank you too.
Love you all. :)
I've been away from the computer for a few days, but not by choice! You know how I got sick just before Christmas? It got a bit better, and then my throat starting getting all dry and sore, it hurt when I was swallowing my own saliva. And then I lost my voice for 2 days, and I only got my voice back yesterday. Now I just have the stupid nasal voice and blocked nose. So I'm well enough (hopefully) to go over to my friend's NYE thingy...to play mahjong! LOL. I'm a pretend gambling addict. I love playing games like mahjong, poker and blackjack, but no way am I going to use real money.
I went to the post-Christmas sales during the week (not the crazy boxing day one) and bought some stuff - a few tshirts, a pair of shorts, a tracksuit, socks, underpants (LOL) and my happiest purchase of all, Rio: My Story. I finished the book this afternoon.
* He did 4 years of ballet as a teenager! omg! Apparently, he's heaps good at table tennis too. * During his West Ham days, he was really badass, and he's probably worse than was written in the book, since it's an autobiography. * I completely support his fight against racism in football (I can't believe Spain's manager Aragones called Thierry Henry a "Black shit", how awful is that? Thierry, of all people!). I remember downloading the Speak Up Stand Up campaign (featuring Ruud, Rio, Thierry and Ronaldinho) a while ago. * I like his concern for kids - throughout the book, he'll mention "you've got to teach this to the kids" or "the kids look up to footballers" and similar stuff. I know it's typical, but I believe he means what he says, because of where and how he grew up. * The bantering and pranking stuff is mad awesome! The stuff the guys get up to is crazy! It's so funny just reading about the stuff they get up to, imagine actually being there. And I'm not just talking about the World Cup wind-ups, they're nothing compared to the shit they get into! * And of course, Rio was sad to see Ruud go, because they got on really well. *hugs 'em both*
edit: Went through about 5 pages of my friends page and noticed some of you got sick over Christmas too. :( Hope you guys get better in time for the new year! *hugs*
