Week in review
* The 2nd job interview at SEALS (last Thursday) was creepy. Can't believe I was interviewed by a panel of FOUR people for a lowly technical officer job. I don't think I can do this one if I get it, because no way am I going to work for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. It's a waste of fuel getting there for just 4 hours, and I can't do much else all the shifts are day-shifts. I guess it's a blessing I got the job at Symbion.
* I won Poker Night again on Saturday! It was madness. Before I went up to Daniel's apartment, I saw a black cat on the street, and I thought, "damn...". When I started playing, my chips were decresing pretty quickly, until I was dealt a pair of Aces. And then another Ace and 2 Jacks were in the flop. I couldn't believe it, and kept calling $10 bets until the river was dealt, and then I went all in. Daniel thought I was totally bluffing, and that he'd won with 2 pairs so he didn't fold. So I won double what I had and more and from then on I didn't have to think too hard.
* I've bought all your presents and am almost finished writing all your cards/notes already! I don't want to think about how much I spent...but hey, I only do this once a year. ;)
* Baby news: Shakeel van Persie was born during the week, and Gillian gave birth to a baby boy, Oscar, 3 weeks ago. Congrats!
Football from Nov. 16th onwards
NETHERLANDS 1 - 1 ENGLAND Boring. Good thing I didn't wake up early to watch the match. The night before, I had a feeling that either the Dutch would win or draw, and van der Vaart would have an influence on the results. I was spot on.
None of the EPL matches with the big four were shown on FOX. : SYDNEY FC 2 - 1 ADELAIDE UNITED Damn, should've been to the match. Why am I never there when we win?! In other news...both teams will be in the Asian Champions League next year. I hope we're in the same group as some of the Japanese or Korean teams.
REAL MADRID 3 - 1 RACING SANTANDER Not the best I've seen the boys play, but at least we got the 3 points. Goals scored by Sergio Ramos, Reyes and Diarra.
REAL MADRID 2 - 2 LYON We fought our way back after being down by two. Ruud scored the equalizer after Raul's header hit the post. And then there was a bit of a scuffle, and Raul got a yellow card for nothing! It was Sergio Ramos who pushed the Lyon guy, but the ref thought it was Raul. After that, Ruud had a chance to help Madrid clinch all 3 points, but he missed the penalty! Again! *cringes*
CELTIC 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED Argh. Saha missed a penalty too!
ARSENAL 3 - 1 HAMBURG Van der Vaart and van Persie scored. :)
All my favourite Dutch boys (Ruud, Robin & Rafael) scored today! ♥
