Grand Slam Sunday
Anybody have a HQ version of this pic? ♥
Match 1: CHELSEA 1 - 0 LIVERPOOL Liverpool, you need to score goals. Possession alone won't win matches for you. They so should've started with Crouchie and Dirk Kuyt up front. And Dirkie, please score some goals prove that you were really worth being selected ahead of Ruud in the Dutch squad; I'm getting impatient. When Ballack was sent off, it didn't affect Chelsea at all. They played as if they still had 11 men on the pitch. Especially when Robben came on. I still can't believe they spent 30 million on Shevchenko.
Match 2: MANCHESTER UNITED 0 - 1 ARSENAL That's what happens when you don't have a proven goalscorer in the team. The first half of the match was fast-paced and both keepers could've been handed red cards. But it was Graham Poll refereeing, and he prefers yellow cards as we all know. ;) Kuszczak was better than I'd expected. Gaz did well too. But...Rooney's lost his touch. Ronaldo keeps losing possession. Saha didn't do very much. We missed Giggsy. Arsenal, even without Henry and van Persie, kept pushing on till the end. They needed to win and they deserved to (as much as I don't want to admit that!).
Match 3: REAL MADRID 2 - 0 REAL SOCIEDAD A very physical match, the RS players were rough. Although RM won, I'm still not convinced they're as good as their reputation suggests. Some of the players (the younger ones in particular) need to learn to pass the ball when a teammate is unmarked. Capello decided not to start with Becks. Ruud had 3 chances to score (out of about 30+ from the whole team...guys, pass the ball to your striker!); I was feeling frustrated, I'm sure he was too. It's as if only Becks knows how to cross the ball over to Ruud in the entire team. Anyways. The first goal came from Reyes's freekick. And then Becks finally came on. He scored the second goal (yay!) in injury time. See above picture! ♥
