Australia 2 - Kuwait 0. Asian Cup, here we come! :D
Tonight's Socceroos consisted entirely of locally-based A-League players. Needless to say, the match was rather frustrating to watch at times. The players lacked pace and technique wasn't quite there either. It was a very different side to the one you guys saw in Germany (you know, the team which could've beaten Italy...heh). The most important thing is that we won tonight, and we're through to the Asian Cup finals.

Holland v. Ireland. I hope Ireland thrashes Holland, and that Kuyt and Huntelaar play poorly. Just to make van Basten change his mind about excluding Ruud from the squad.
Here's what van der Sar had to say:
Van Der Sar: Duo shouldn't have been dropped
'I would definitely have preferred them to be part of the group,' said Manchester United goalkeeper Van der Sar, who saw striker Van Nistelrooy leave Old Trafford for Real Madrid this summer.
'They are very good players, who could do very well for us. I spoke about that with Marco. I say what I want to say and he gives his arguments.'
