Heartbroken

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

England played so much better today, everything about the team just looked stronger. And then...argh! Becks was out injured (again, my favourite player's stranded in the dugout). Rooney got sent off, but it was clearly his fault. He should have kept his cool. England, with 10 men, and no real striker, fought so hard to keep the score at 0-0. Lampard should've scored though (he was unmarked, just metres away from the goal!). So for 120+ minutes it was still 0-0. Then came the penalties, which was a disaster. I was so hopeful when the Portugese missed 2 of them, only to realise England had missed even more (omg Gerrard!). My heart broke, for the third time this week. Then the tears starting flowing when I saw Rio Ferdinand weeping, and Gaz (Neville) lying on the pitch.

If England still had 11 men, they could've beaten Portugal before extra time. Goddamnit, Rooney. England really needed a striker. The poacher kind of striker. I couldn't help but think that if Lampard was Dutch, he wouldn't make the team. And if Ruud was English, he could've won today's match for England. *sigh*

Some of the Portugese players should've been booked for simulation. Or given Oscars for their performances. I dislike these dirty tactics - they are NOT part of the game.
