Random question: You've been told that you're cute. Compliment, or insult?
***
Thanks for your responses to the cute question. I've been told that I'm cute by many people, and until recently, I've taken it as a huge insult. I'm the younger sibling. I was considered short and almost always in the front row for school photos. I look younger than my age and am constantly asked to show my ID.
Several weeks ago, TQ took me to the perfume shop where she worked and we were chatting and I sort of met her boss. When her boss said that I was cute, but I didn't feel that awkwardness anymore.
So I gave that some thought yesterday. And then I realised I frequently use "cute" myself. Sesame Street bandaids are cute. Mulder's fishtank is cute. Maura looks cute wearing glasses (and so does Gillian). Polka dot socks are cute. Ellen's pantsuits are cute.
Not sure if there's a point to all this... :P
