Down With The Sickness

First day of school, and already I had to leave early. I woke up yesterday morning with nausea. As the day went on, I felt colder and colder, and I knew I had a fever. And I still wanted to puke, but hadn't eaten much all day, so there wasn't really anything to vomit. It was half way through lab class, and I couldn't bear it anymore. Good thing Louisa is my immuno tutor once more, and she just told me to go home and sleep. So I "jumped the queue" and quickly finished culturing the jurkat cells and doing a cell viability check. When I got home, I just went under the covers, until mum came home from her evening shift. As soon as I stood up, I had to run to the bathroom...and puked. I can't remember how many years ago it was when I last got so sick I had to vomit. Wanting to vomit, and the process of vomitting, is so uncomfortable and unbearable. A million times worse than stomach cramps and headaches put together. After that episode, I tried having some rice noodles since I barely had food all day. Big mistake. Two hours later, the feeling of wanting to puke woke me up, and I couldn't make it to the bathroom in time. Thank God my trash can is always beside my bed...and I puked out all my "supper".

Enough of the gross details. I'm still not 100% well yet...still eating plain bread rolls, plain crackers and plain rice noodles. The fever's subsided, but I still have to take it easy with the food. Gosh, what a way to start off the semester...
