'the dance we do'
I think chicken pox is going around uni. Luckily I got them when I was in kindy. But my poor buddy Leanna got the chicken pox just now, and she has to miss her final exams. It's a real PITA cos the whole procedure of applying for supplementary exams really sux big time at UNSW. I remember when I had viral pharyngitis earlier in May and missed one of my in-session exams, it took the staff like 3 weeks to let me know they're not bothered to write another exam just for one person so you're gonna get an average mark of your previous results instead. I can imagine the whole situation would be much worse for Leanna, since she has to miss her final exams. I'll keep her in my prayers.
Alex Kingston (who plays Dr. Elizabeth Corday) won't have her ER contract extended. Apparently she was "sacked cos she's too old". Now, that is so unfair. And it's discrimination too. Not that she's that old, and aren't experienced surgeons of a certain age? *sigh* At least it's pretty safe that Maura's staying on (*ahem* she's not young either...she's turning 40 next year), since her contract is extended for another 2 years, and besides, she's now leading lady of the ER. 2nd on the credits! I'd like to see Maura get another Emmy nom, cos she deserves it. According to Noah: "In an instant she can bring up this wellspring of emotion that just absolutely floors me." :)
As reported by a few of my Kitcatten pals, Kit's last album will be released in July. I'm secretly wishing that it'll be released on the 30th *winks*. LAST album. I haven't really had the time to do a lot of thinking about it yet. But in short, I'm very happy for her, for she has realised her childhood dreams, and moving on to the next journey in her life. I thank her for all that has happened in the past few years...my short-term dreams realised, meeting a bunch of wonderful people (and meeting her too...equally as wonderful!), and all that crazy stuff. It's been fun and very memorable. I dunno what everyone else thinks, but to me, Kit is one of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life. I'm not saying cos I'm her fan *shivers when I use that word*, but as a human being meeting another human being. I've met her...twice? But somehow, dunno how, she remembered me despite us barely having the chance to "meet up", so to speak. (Maybe cos I'm extra looney LOL...).
I'll reply all my outstanding emails in two weeks' time, when my 2nd-last undergrad sem is officially over...argh... *freaks out* Also, I've decided to pursue my high school dream once more. Med school. It's definite now. I'm not doing it for the pay nor the status. Medicine is just a passion, just like music. And med school may just be when I've come the full circle... there's is a slight chance I may do med in HKU, and if that happens, I'll be staying at Chi Fu back in HK, when I lived for the first 4 years of my life.
Just a wacky little thing here. I've sorta come the full circle in a way. I'm back to year 9 again, when I first took an interest in med, after we studied the circulatory, respiratory and urinary systems in science (and I forgot how I got sidetracked along the way). In year 10 I did a project on Boston because Flora Chan grew up there, and I still remember I stuck a pic of Flora in my project LOL! Then Kit came along and I wanted to go to Singapore a billion times more than I wanted to check out the US. Recently I became a Maura Tierney fan, and guess what, she's a native Bostonite! (Flora and Maura rhyme too...) And now I'd like to take a trip to the US all over again.

See y'all soon - virtually/physically.
