MOOSEPORT!

Friday sucked for most of the day. I was groggy in the morning, not because I had a hangover, but because I was seriously sleep-deprived. I almost tripped on the escalator (which is potentially fatal). I skipped class to study for Bacteria & Disease mid-session exam, but that obviously didn't help. I totally blew it. Kept getting Strep. pyogenes and Strep. pneumoniae mixed up, and totally forgot about Salmonella. And then some inconsiderate person didn't wipe the bench before he/she left, and I got malachite green stain all over my hand (grrr...) and since it's a stain, it's Saturday morning and the stain's still on my hand. I left uni feeling really depressed, and almost caught the wrong bus. Realised I hadn't peed all afternoon and alighted the bus at Elizabeth St. to use the David Jones restroom...which of course, on the way, I saw a size S of the Marc Jacobs sweater I originally wanted. Damn. I can't do any indulgent spending now if I want to see Kit in July, and see Kit perform on the night of my bro's birthday.
So after the helluvaday I had, I met up with Anna in the evening.
I felt so relieved. I needed to talk to someone, after such a crappy day. Had dinner at The Dish, and realised we finished dinner a little too early...so we killed time with hot chocolate. Hehe... And then came 6:40pm, we bought our Starburst-Popcorn-Coke combo and set off to cinema 17 for Welcome to Mooseport! Many reviewers had given it a thumbs-down (watched The Movie Show, and Mooseport only received a 2-star rating...), so I didn't quite know what to expect. You know what, it turned out to be really good. Not the best movie ever, but it was really therapeutic. It's true when they say that laughter is the best medicine! The movie totally brightened up my day (or night, rather). It was the first time I saw Maura on the big screen (she's Dr. Sally Mannis, haha...not an ER doc, she's a vet!), and I was with a high school buddy (who loves Abby and Carter and Luka and the other docs too...) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Ray Romano was quite good too. You might not like the movie if you can't stand small towns and golf and politics. Otherwise, go watch Mooseport just for an enjoyable day and a good laugh. :)
