I'm ER-crazy. I watched 12 eps of ER in 3 days! Selected episodes from Seasons 2, 6, 8, 9 and 10. The most memorable eps must be "Be Still My Heart" and "All In The Family". These eps were the ones where Lucy and Carter were stabbed by the psych patient. It was quite dramatic when Jing-mei, Abby and Luka were working on Carter in the ER, and Benton comes storming down from OR and yelling his usual "Come on people! Let's move!" with more fury. It was also sad to see Mark Greene pass away in the ep "By The Beach", with a modern remix of Somewhere Over the Rainbow playing the background. After watching these remaining recordings I have of ER, I really regret not recording all the episodes. And it's gonna take forever for all the DVDs to be released.

The more I watch ER and "read" ER, the more I realise that Healing Hands isn't even 10% of it. The pace, the cases, the bizarre cases, the suspense, the camera work, the talent and professionalism of the actors... I mean, Healing Hands is arguably TVB's best production in recent times, but it's not good enough on the international scale. Don't get me wrong, I still like HH. I'm just being realistic here. Many of the actors had to audition for their roles in ER (like Ming-Na, who even brought her own pair of latex gloves to the audition!), and many actors went to commendable acting schools (Maura Tierney attended New York's Circle in the Square theatre school). Hehe, Kit went to drama school too...but her acting? I love Kit, but I'd be lying to you if I told you she's a more talented and more versatile actress than Maura Tierney. I love Kit because she's a wonderful person, and because she's Kit.

I've been talking about ER all week...drastic change from my Kit Kit Kit days...hehe... Not really. It's just that there's been no news of Kit for a little while so there's nothing to talk about? I haven't forgotten about her. :)

And it's because the stuff on ER is relevant to what I'm studying. Stuff like symptoms of meningitis (headache, photophobia, stiff neck etc.), Pseudomonas infection, anaphylaxis, CBC, blood cultures and gram stains, gastroenteritis, gentomycin... I'm finally getting back to that stage of interest in med science, because of ER. Well, either that, or the 140 photos I took of petri dishes of bacteria from urine/faecal/sputum/CSF samples during Friday's lab...

That's right. Over 4MB of photos just for 2 lab classes, and I didn't take photos of the microscope slides. I don't think I've ever taken that many photos in one day! I originally planned to create a website for the pics, but 140 pics was a little too much, and I sent the files to Shirley and Pamela on msn instead. Let them sort out the pics for themselves...kekekeke!

I came home on Friday night sorting out the photos, as if I was Abby working as triage nurse...

Lola is a medical scientist, music teacher, hoping to be a forensic pathologist one day, Catholic, neat freak... She worships Dana Scully from The X-Files and Kay Scarpetta from Patricia Cornwell's novels. And she loves football. (background by Kess)
