THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MONDAYS

There's something good about Mondays :)

What was really special about yesterday was I saw a lot of high school friends I hadn't seen in months or even one year. It was nice chatting to them once again.

First thing in the morning, I saw Anna waiting for the train at Hurstville. It's really funny, cos everytime we see each other, the first thing on our minds is ER. Hee! Then she told me she now works full time and studies full time (UTS offers night classes), and she doesn't have much time left for anything else. I offered to tape every ep of ER for her, and that brightened up her face! Anna and I became quite close in year 11, since we were both in Mrs. Gooddall's (another ER fan!) maths class, and the same dodgy chem class. And the fact that we both love Abby Lockhart/Maura Tierney and John Carter/Noah Wyle. Hehe... Several years ago we promised to watch Scotland PA (a modern re-make of Shakespeare's Macbeth, starring Maura Tierney) together, but the movie was never released! We kept our fingers crossed that Welcome to Mooseport would be released soon!

Then I saw Hidy. I knew her since we were 5, and we went to high school together. Our interests differed, but that never affected our friendship. Although we only live about a block away, we hadn't seen each other in months. That's cos she does commerce, and several nights a week she works at Star City (haha, not the casino itself, but at the buffet).

At lunch, Leanna and I saw Jingjia, and sat with her during lunch hour. The three of us used to be absolute TVB addicts...and now the three of us are ex-TVB addicts! We didn't have much time left for TVB tapes now, and it's also the fact that the quality of TVB series is not as good as it used to be. We can remember the days of File of Justice, Old Time Buddy, Detective Investigation Files, Feminine Masculinity, Untraceable Evidence, Time Before Time, Green Hope, and of course Healing Hands...

As I was walking towards Anzac Pde, I saw Stacey. She's not my high school friend, but we met each other in first year maths. She's from the country. We were in most of the same classes in first year, but we didn't see each other so much in 2nd year, at not at all now, cos we chose different majors. It's nice to see that she finally chose something she was interested in (she switched from genetics to neural anatomy/physiology and psychology).

Other than seeing good buddies again, the day was good too. In Chinese class, we were learning Teresa Teng's songs! Haha! This week's song is tian2 mi4 mi4, I wonder what's next week's? I hope it's The Moon Represents My Heart. You guys have no doubt who I think of when I think of Teresa Teng, right? *winks*

Then I headed off to David Jones (again) after school...can't help it! At least 30% off sale! Was tempted to buy a little Burberry handbag, but then I went to level one and saw racks and racks of discounted stock! Hehehe... then I rummaged thru Ralph Lauren (but couldn't find the pink pony top), then towards Esprit (but I already bought everything I wanted at the Esprit sale), and then the Marc Jacobs section... Most of the sizes left were M and L...but I managed to find a navy blue knee length cord skirt! Yay! I've looked for a similar denim skirt at Esprit and Ralph Lauren and even Calvin Klein (gosh, and even Roses in the Loft!) for like the longest time, but I could never find one that fitted properly. And now, I find this cord one (which feels more comfortable than denim)... marked down from $499 to $199. So it was a must buy! So happy about the skirt! My next target is the Burberry nova plaid handbag...the little checked bag is so classic...

Came home to clear up my mess from last night's Graphics assignment, had dinner, and then it was time for Sex & the City! Yay! It was funny how Carrie got caught smoking pot, and when she was in the police car, she put that post-it from Berger on the window... And then she was high for the rest of the night... But my favourite character must be Charlotte (Kristin Davis). Her way of doing things is so me...haha... Charlotte: "If I hadn't got divorced the first time, I wouldn't have met my divorce lawyer. And now I wouldn't be engaged to him!" Just like: "If I hadn't watched HH1 cos of Flora, I wouldn't have watched HH2, and I wouldn't have known about Kit, and I wouldn't have met you guys..." One thing leads to another, whether it's good or bad. And we always learn something. Oh, and of course, I love Charlotte's wardrobe! It's so neat, classic, preppy, girly... :)

So that was my Monday. Now it's Tuesday, and I anticipate I'll be up until the next morning studying for microbial genetics session exam. EXAM, not test! Argh! I comfort myself thinking at least I don't have to write a report tonight. Bitter comfort. But oh well. Tonight's gonna be over soon, and tomorrow's gonna be over just as quickly...and then I can look forward to watching Abby again on Thursday night!

Lola is a medical scientist, music teacher, hoping to be a forensic pathologist one day, Catholic, neat freak... She worships Dana Scully from The X-Files and Kay Scarpetta from Patricia Cornwell's novels. And she loves football. (background by Kess)
