LOLA IN THE KITCHAN
(N.B. deliberate typo *winks*)
For the second night in a row, I cooked dinner! Haha! It's quite an effort for someone who previously only knew how to cook instant noodles. Last night I made this pasta with bacon and mushroom, with this white creamy sauce (contained something like herbs and white wine...). And tonight, it was my good ol' salad - one bowl was with Italian dressing, the other with Thousand Island dressing cos I ran out of the Italian dressing. And guess what, Thousand Island actually tasted better because it was less watery. Also made this thing called Salmon Melt (with the help of my dad). It was inspired by something I had for lunch during our recent South Coast trip.
Salmon melt ingredients: smoked salmon, onions (the red kind), shallots (or any other herb you prefer), bacon, tomato slices - all on top of buttered Turkish bread and all covered by a slice of cheese.
And of course, no Western meal is complete without the French Fries!
I reckon the only reason I could do last night's and tonight's dinner is because they weren't our regular Chinese dinners. I mean, I still dunno how to hold the wok properly, how to chow this and jeen that and jing this and ja that...hehe.
The carpet is all clean, and all the furniture and stuff around the house is now in the right places. Two days of hard labour! When I grow up and get my own home, it's gonna be either timber or vinyl floors!
