The Girl with the Goalden Boot

I've been playing around with the colours as you can see...the Dreamscape colour-scheme was growing out of date, so here comes the Understand one. I'm trying to do a "photo-background-thingy" but I don't know how to do it.

So what's up with my life? I took a trip to the South Coast of NSW (Sussex Inlet, Batemans Bay, Kiama etc.) with my parents and family friends. I wouldn't say it was fun, but it was a laid-back trip, with plenty of pretty scenery and dramatic weather changes. Yes - DRAMATIC weather changes! Ranging from heavy fog (couldn't even see 1 metre ahead) to a hailstorm on the highway on the way home to a thunderstorm that shook the ground. Went on this 2 hr boat trip on a little motor boat (my dad steered), did some hiking in the dense bushes/forest, gazed at the horizon of the Pacific Ocean...I snapped about 100 pics, and will upload them soon on my Outings webpage.

Being the local church singer/pianist has never been much of a task. Thanks to my perfect pitch. I get handed the music sheets about 10 minutes before mass, and all I have to do is sight-sing/sight-read. However, being the musical director of the group is another story! I must confess that I never attend bible study, nor do I really pay attention to the readings O_o because I dunno...I never felt the need to be so knowledgable (sp?) with the history. When I go to mass, it was like a weekly meet-up with God. But this time, I had to know about and understand the readings, and dig out the hymns that related to the central theme of the readings. A huge task for someone who wasn't sure how the chapters and verses go in the bible...

Anyway, back to the musical director business. I couldn't even find the bible at home! Thank goodness for the internet, there was an online version. And thank goodness for the internet, all my problems were solved! Not instantly, but eventually. So this weekend (Feb 8):

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (or Fifth Sunday After Epiphany), Year C
Theme: Great and holy is God; man, follow Christ, your salvation
Readings: Is 6: 1-8 (The awesome holiness of God); 1 Cor 15: 1-11 (Christ, our salvation); Lk 5: 1-11 (Christ the leader, man the follower); Psalm 138 (The great glory of God).

So I chose these 4 hymns: Come As You Are, The Lord is My Shepherd (one of my favourites), Firmly I believe and Truly, and Holy God, We Praise Thy Name. Mission accomplished!

Onto Kit now. Her Understand cum compilation CD is gonna be out in 3 days! Pity they left out tracks 7 and 10 from the original Understand - a dilemma for those who waited for this HK version. The one new canto song is, not-so-surprisingly, a cover of a Korean song. Typical. Oh well, the whole world knows I'll be getting this new CD. I'm just wondering if it's cheaper to ask Mandy to get it for me (she's going to HK in a few days), or ask my bro to get it from Yesasia. I think the former, because of the good exchange rate. Whatever it is, I want it ASAP! Hehe...

Have any of you ever counted how many copies of xin tong you have on your albums? *Loretta starts counting...*

2 copies (cardboard box & jewel case) of Heartache = 2
HK version of Cornered = 1
Limited edition of Sadness = 1
2 copies (photo book ver. & VCD ver.) of That Day That Night = 2
2 copies (white & silver) of Like Kit = 2
Kit's concert soundtrack = 1
Taiwan version of Dreamscape = 1
HK's Understand compilation = 1 (I've included this cos I'll be getting it anyway)
TOTAL = 11 I haven't even counted the VCDs... ;P

That's all for now. A quick dinner before my next piano student arrives. Au revoir ;)
