I woke up this morning and realised today is the day – washing day. Time to wipe away all the dreams and memories I had of you. No more tears, sadness or regret. I washed out my mind. I wiped away your shadows on my walls and your reflections on my mirrors. I washed the blankets we once shared. The smell of your cologne, I let it out my windows. I wiped away your fingerprints, and mopped away your footprints. You were no more.

One of my pieces of creative writing. We were given the title "Washing day" and somehow had to conjure up our thoughts related to the given phrase. I don't know how this paragraph came up in my mind, because it isn't something I've experienced before...

Lola is a medical scientist, music teacher, hoping to be a forensic pathologist one day, Catholic, neat freak... She worships Dana Scully from The X-Files and Kay Scarpetta from Patricia Cornwell's novels. And she loves football. (background by Kess)
