It's Like This...
I can't wait another 3 months or more...argh! I can't! It's too long a wait! Sometimes I worry that I just say all of Kit's albums are good cos I love Kit, but then when I think about it, and actually analyse the music itself...she and her colleagues do come up with high-quality productions each time. Be it the over-powering ballads like Dazzling or the downtempo tracks in Dreamscape, they're all GOOD STUFF. I've dictated out the melody and lyrics for the you ren ai ni sample. And did the ringtone too. What's good about this next album so far is the more definite melodic lines, especially this first track. Zhen is another track with a beautiful melody, with soft, soothing accompaniment.
Hey, it just hit me that One Day is another poem-turned-song! :) It's the last one in the book. Too bad the music doesn't sound that original. The tune reminds me of Sammi Cheng's Feel So Good. But the percussion's good. I like the genre "drum n bass", and elements of that can also be found in Dreams.
"I will walk without my shoes on
I will rise with the sun
And wane with the moon
I will owe no one an explanation
I will be traceless, leaving them
Without a clue" - from Kit's One Day
Back to the music. Track 5 "jiu" sounds very Tanya-like, maybe because of the lifted spirit and carefree feel. Reminds me of something like Just Like the Movies from Tanya's album, Jupiter. Li kai ni is in the style of yi tian yi tian from Dreamscape. Moon Song is smooooooth, hehe, but it's not the kind of style I like.
Dammit! I can't wait that long! I want the whole album NOW!!! :P
A year ago I wouldn't have imagined ever buying anything other than "ballad" albums... Today I bought my 6th one: The Ministry of Sound's Chillout Sessions 4. I quite like Sade's By Your Side and Rob Dougan's Clubbed to Death.
Back to my essay on vocal music of the 16th century...
