My dad told me that only women above 40 like to eat bitter gourd. How true is that? Cos I'm not even half that age and I like to eat bitter gourd! O_o It's something like a when a woman has reached the age of 40, she has been through many experiences in life, including the bitter ones, so the bitter gourd no longer tastes bitter to her. Anyone heard of this? Since I'm only 18, and I like bitter gourd...am I normal?!?! O_o

Today was a good day, it was so nice and sunny I decided to go shopping instead of mould in the library during my 4-hour break, hehe... Went shopping with Tu Quynh. I bought that denim Burberry handbag *grins* and it's actually $299, not $209...oh well, at least it's durable! TQ was looking for this white wool hat, it's like a cross between a beret and a cap. Too bad she couldn't find THE right one. When I got back to uni at 3pm (an hour before lecture started) I bumped into Adrian, a really good friend who transferred from med science to optometry this year. Haha...he's doing Chinese as his general education course! I had so much fun reading those pinyin and thinking, "ah...so that's how you pronounce this and that..." It's such an easy course for someone who has background in Chinese, I wonder if I can do it next semester? And I discovered the difference between potunghua, guo yu and hua yu...there is no difference! Just that Mandarin is known as potonghua in China, guo yu in Taiwan and HK, and hua yu in SE Asia. (damn...I sound like a country bumpkin again...haha!)

Lola is a medical scientist, music teacher, hoping to be a forensic pathologist one day, Catholic, neat freak... She worships Dana Scully from The X-Files and Kay Scarpetta from Patricia Cornwell's novels. And she loves football. (background by Kess)
