I received this email yesterday...it makes my heart melt...
I realised how I feel towards Kit has pretty much changed all these years. From someone who seemed so distant and whom I thought would never know me, she became someone whom I write the most letters to now, and someone who knows almost everything that is happening to me. She is almost like a diary you know.. someone whom I pour out everything to, and yet, I get no reply. hehehhehe... There was a phase whereby the desire to make Kit my friend was so bad, and the more personal Kit became towards me, the more hopeful I was. But well, right now, I guess I am content to leave things just the way they are. We are not really friends, but yet, we are not strangers either, but we are definitely not JUST an idol/singer and fan relationship. We both know we are special to each other (at least, she is to me. Whether it is vice versa, it's debatable) and that's enough. I know that someday, when Kit retires, we might just lose touch with her and never hear about her again. But all those memories of her as such a special person will stay on. All these years, there is something about her that had never changed. She had always been such an inspirational and encouraging person, and I am so proud to see her constantly breaking new boundaries, and excelling in each new thing that she does, and getting better and better. Despite whatever people are saying about her getting too old, getting 'passe', Kit will always remain Kit, and it's not the name or just the face that we remember many years later, but the voice that so touched our hearts, and the things that she has done for us and others that we will remember for a very long time.
This is the reason I'm a Kit wannabe. One day, I wish I can touch people's lives just like that, just like how Kit inspires so many of us.
