MATHEWS THEATRE A
As I step into the lecture theatre
I'm drawn in by the uniformity –
Pens madly scribbling,
Pages rapidly turning,
Eyes intensely staring –
staring at slides,
staring at the door,
staring at nothing at all.
Have we ever once stopped
Climbing the stairs,
Scrambling for seats,
Waiting for the next time
we rush for the exits
A daily cycle
A routine lifestyle
I'm getting used to it
(Hopefully)
I found this scribbled among my biology lecture notes, dated 9/9/02. Probably my first serious attempt at poetry writing...inspired by my cool poet friends, Ting and Kit! :P But heck...this is like nothing compared to what they can write!
